Katwijk, November 15, 2023, Her Majesty Queen Máxima paid a working visit to Oomen Opslag & Verhuizers in Katwijk on Wednesday, November 15. The visit was centered on the presentation of the annual report “State of SMEs 2023” by the Dutch Committee for Entrepreneurship, of which Queen Máxima is a member.
During the visit, the annual report was presented to Micky Adriaansens, Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, and Jacco Vonhof, chairman of MKB-Nederland. The report provides a trend analysis of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Netherlands and addresses topics such as sustainability, digitization, financing, labor market mobility, and talent development.
Oomen Opslag & Verhuizers, a family-owned business, stands out for its innovative self-storage solutions that allow customers to access their storage containers via an online system. The company has invested in sustainability by adopting a largely electric vehicle fleet and using solar energy, which has earned it an A+++++ energy rating.
The working visit concluded with a discussion of the recommendations from the annual report, during which the “Action Agenda for SME Services 2024–2026” was also discussed. This agenda is aimed at improving public services for entrepreneurs.
Queen Máxima’s visit underscores the importance of cooperation between the government, businesses, and educational institutions in strengthening the economic power of small and medium-sized enterprises.
