What needs arranging in Haarlem for your moving day

Part of the work happens well before moving day. The municipality of Haarlem has its own rules for parking, for a vehicle that blocks the street and for the city centre. During the survey we check which of them apply to your address.

Parking for moving day

For a move, the municipality of Haarlem issues a temporary parking permit for a morning, an afternoon or a full day. We tell you which parts of the day you need. You apply for the permit yourself; on request we do that and put out the signs, as an extra service.

Traffic plan if the street is blocked

If the van or lift stands on the road for a longer time, Haarlem does not require an exemption but does want a traffic plan, at least three weeks in advance. On request we submit it as an extra service, so tell us your date in good time.

Agreements with the building

For flats in Schalkwijk and apartments in the centre, a few details need agreeing with the owners' association or building manager beforehand: which lift we may use, whether it needs protective panels and how late we can work. Tell us at the survey, and we take it into account in the work order.

Assembly and hanging

After unloading we put wardrobes and beds back together and take the reusable packing materials away. If you want pictures, lamps or curtain rails put up afterwards, our handyman can do that on the day or later.

By parking the van as close as possible and wheeling the last stretch, or by lowering large items down the facade. For a hofje we measure the gateway during the survey. For a narrow stairwell we use our electric moving lift or a hoist, so wardrobes and sofas do not have to squeeze past the banister.

How early should I fix my moving date in Haarlem?+

Eight weeks ahead is ideal, as our schedule runs that far; at short notice there is often still room. Booking early also helps with the municipality, as a traffic plan has to be in at least three weeks before moving day. Get in touch as soon as you have a date in mind and we will pencil it in.
