The cost of a moving day in Amsterdam depends on the number of hours and movers your move needs, because we work at a transparent hourly rate. The floor you live on, a moving lift or hoisting beam and the city's fees for parking bays or an object permit also count. After the survey, at home or by video, you receive a no-obligation quote that sets this out in advance. Your account manager confirms the final rate.

In Amsterdam you save mainly on hours: the better the route out of the building and the spot for the vehicle are arranged, the shorter the day. Packing yourself and clearing out what you do not want to take also saves time. If the sofa will not fit down the stairs, a moving lift is often quicker than carrying. And for a move with a fully electric vehicle, the city's traffic exemption is free of charge.

Check that the moving company looks at your address beforehand and tells you who applies for the parking bays and the lift permit, since without them there is nowhere for the vehicle to stand in Amsterdam. Ask about the zero-emission zone and insurance too. With us you are insured up to € 125,000 with no excess while our movers transport your things, and our movers hold VCA certification and a certificate of conduct (VOG).

For a moving vehicle in Amsterdam you reserve parking bays with a temporary traffic measure (TVM), which you request from the city at least six working days ahead. The city then puts up the signs. If the vehicle has to stop where that is normally not allowed, for example to load on the pavement, an RVV exemption is needed. We work out what your address requires; on request we handle the application for you, as an extra service.

Ours can: our electric vehicles may enter the zero-emission and low-emission zones without an exemption. Since 1 January 2025 a zero-emission zone for vans and lorries has applied inside the S100 city ring, with a low-emission zone between the S100 and the A10. Petrol and diesel vans with emission class 5 lose access to the zero-emission zone from 1 January 2027, and the city expects to extend it to the A10 from 2028.

In a canal house, large furniture usually goes via the facade: with rope and pulley on the hoisting beam, or with our own electric moving lift, which reaches the 13th floor and lifts up to 400 kilos. During the survey we check which pieces need to go through the window and whether the hoisting beam can be used. The Centrum district always requires an object permit for a lift on the street, which we apply for on request; it is then listed in your quote as an extra service.

Ideally plan a move in Amsterdam a few weeks ahead, because the city needs time for the applications: at least six working days for parking bays and at least seven working days for an object permit for the lift.
