What to keep in mind when moving in The Hague

Each district of The Hague has different homes and different rules for the street. These four points come up at many addresses in the city; during the survey we check which apply to you and what we arrange for them.

Two zero-emission zones

The city centre inside the Centrumring has been a zero-emission zone for vans and lorries since 1 January 2025, and the coastal strip since 1 January 2026. Our electric vehicles can enter without an exemption, so your moving date does not depend on it.

Bollards in pedestrian areas

Outside the delivery windows, a removal van may only enter a pedestrian area with retractable bollards under a one-off exemption. The municipality wants the application at least six working days ahead. On request we submit it for you as soon as your date is fixed.

No parking space to book

Movers may park free of charge in The Hague while a move is under way, but you cannot reserve a space. During the survey we agree where the van can stand, and we carry the job confirmation, as the municipality asks.

Stairs straight behind the door

In the Regentessekwartier and the Bomen- en Bloemenbuurt, an upstairs flat often has its own front door with a long staircase right behind it. If a wardrobe will not fit, it goes in through the window with our moving lift.
