What to arrange in advance in Eindhoven

Inside Eindhoven's Ring road different rules apply than in the districts beyond it: a zero-emission zone, paid parking and a pedestrian area watched by cameras. A removal van also falls under a rule for large vehicles. Here is what that means for your moving day.

Have your address checked

Zero-emission zone since 2025

Since 1 January 2025 a zero-emission zone for vans and lorries has applied inside the Ring. Older vans are already barred, and after the transition period only emission-free ones may enter. We drive in electrically without an exemption, so there is nothing for you to apply for.

Large vehicles: weekdays 8 to 6

In Eindhoven a removal van counts as a large vehicle. On working days between 8.00 and 18.00 it may park anywhere; outside those hours only in designated places. If you move in the evening or at the weekend, we arrange beforehand where the van can stand.

Paid parking, Sundays included

Inside the Ring you pay for parking every day from 9.00 to 21.00. If the van takes up two bays you pay for two, even with a resident's permit. We tell you beforehand what is needed; on request we arrange the space, as an extra service.

Pedestrian area with cameras

Most of the centre is pedestrianised, open to traffic only within the loading windows and monitored by number-plate cameras. Outside those times a resident or removal company can apply for a one-off exemption for a move. We do that when needed.

We move a loft on Strijp-S, in a former factory, with the shared lift, and anything that will not fit in it goes along the facade on the moving lift. In a workers' house in Philipsdorp our movers check if your sofa can take the stairs or has to go through the window. On a residential court in Geestenberg they often walk some way to the van.

Agreements with the building manager

For an apartment building we can, on request and as an extra service, agree with the building manager, landlord or owners' association when the lift and loading spot are free and how the hall and doors are protected. Otherwise you agree this with them yourself.

How much does a moving company in Eindhoven cost?+

For a move in Eindhoven you pay for the hours the work takes, at a transparent hourly rate that appears in your quote. How many hours that comes to depends on your belongings and on both addresses. A loft in a tower inside the Ring, with a lift, the zone and paid parking, needs more preparation than a terraced house in Woensel. Your account manager confirms the price after the survey.

Can a removal van enter Eindhoven's zero-emission zone?+

An electric removal van can simply drive into the zero-emission zone inside the Ring; older diesel vans can no longer do so. The zone has applied to vans and lorries since 1 January 2025. Our electric vehicles run on solar power we generate ourselves and need no exemption.

Where can a removal van park in Eindhoven?+

On working days between 8.00 and 18.00 a large vehicle such as a removal van may park anywhere; outside those hours only in designated places. Inside the Ring parking is paid every day from 9.00 to 21.00, and you pay for two bays if the van uses two. We arrange the space, including for evening moves.

What is the cheapest day to move in Eindhoven?+

Because we charge by the hour, the cheapest move is the one that takes the fewest hours. In Eindhoven that is often a weekday during the day, when the van may park anywhere and less needs arranging. Packing boxes yourself and emptying furniture beforehand also saves time.

How far ahead should I book movers in Eindhoven?+

We schedule up to eight weeks ahead, and a move at short notice is often still possible. If you live inside the Ring or in the pedestrian area, do not leave it too late: an exemption takes time to arrange, and we prefer to have it sorted well before moving day.
