School relocation, planned around the timetable
In a school relocation, classrooms, workplaces, IT and archives move while the timetable should shift as little as possible. A project manager surveys the buildings and writes a relocation plan per classroom and department. You choose the moment: in a holiday, outside teaching hours or in phases, for example per building if the school has more than one.
What Oomen takes care of in a school relocation
A school moves because of a renovation, sustainability work on the building, a restructuring or growth. The relocation plan states for each part when it moves and where it goes in the new building.
Classrooms and school furniture
Tables, chairs and cupboards get a move code per classroom that matches the floor plan of the new building. That way every classroom arrives complete.
Workplaces and IT
We dismantle and reassemble workplaces, including cable management, screens and network equipment. We coordinate disconnecting and reconnecting with your IT department or IT partner.
Archives and files
In order, in numbered archive boxes that we seal on request. Files end up in the same place in the new building.
Assembly and mounting
Our handyman dismantles and assembles school furniture and mounts whiteboards and lighting.
Handyman serviceMoving lift for tall buildings
For buildings with several floors we use our own electric moving lift. It reaches the 13th floor and lifts 400 kg at a time.
Business moving liftTemporary storage
Furniture or equipment that temporarily has no place goes in a container to our climate-controlled storage and comes back on request.
Business storageA school relocation in five steps
From the survey to the handover of the old building.
Survey on location
The project manager walks through the buildings: classrooms, offices, lifts, loading bays and the route between them.
Quote and relocation plan
The quote follows the survey. After approval the project manager writes the relocation plan: the order and the moment per classroom and department, the move codes and who does what.
Packing
Teachers and staff pack their own classroom or workplace using our crates and labels, or our movers do it. We pack IT and archives separately.
Moving days
Teams led by a foreman move classroom by classroom, at the moments in the relocation plan: in a holiday, outside teaching hours or while lessons continue in another building. We reassemble furniture straight away.
Handover
The classrooms are set up according to the floor plan and we collect the crates. On request we clear the old building and hand it over broom-clean.
Planning around the timetable
You choose when the school moves: in a holiday, outside teaching hours or in phases, so lessons continue in another building or department. We plan eight weeks ahead. If you want to move in a holiday, request the quote well in advance; that secures the period. Need it sooner? At short notice there is often still room. Just give us a call.
What we need for the quote
- Both addresses, even if the new building is not final yet
- The number of classrooms, workplaces and departments
- When you want to move: in a holiday, outside teaching hours or in phases
- Particulars such as archives, IT or a building without a goods lift
- Whether you need temporary storage
