Our movers load, the container goes to the warehouse sealed

A large part of Alkmaar city centre is closed to traffic: loading and unloading is allowed Monday to Saturday from 7.00 to 11.00 and from 17.00 to 19.30. Because we come from Katwijk, we set out in your work order beforehand when the truck leaves and where it will stand. In Huiswaard we book the lift of your gallery flat with the landlord or owners' association; what has been agreed is set out in your work order.

During storage you can optionally take out storage insurance with us, or insure the contents through your own home contents insurance. If you let our movers drive, the moving coverage up to € 125,000 without a deductible applies during that transport, according to our general terms and conditions.

Moving with storage in between

If your belongings need to stay somewhere for a while, our movers load them in Alkmaar into your own container. It is sealed in your presence and stays closed until we deliver it to your new address, in Alkmaar or in the Randstad. Your work order sets out the loading times and where the truck stands beforehand.

What if loading in Alkmaar city centre does not fit within the loading hours?+

Then a traffic rules exemption is needed, and the registered keeper of the vehicle applies for it. That is us. After the application it can take ten working days to six weeks before the municipality responds, so on request we submit it straight after the survey, as an extra service. That way the truck can stay on the day itself until your container is full.

I live close to the Waagplein. Do you take the cheese market into account?+

Yes. From late March to late September there is a cheese market on the Waagplein on Fridays from 10.00 to 13.00. If you live nearby, we load your container on another day in those months, or well outside those hours. The time is set out in your work order beforehand.

Can the container stand at my door?+

As standard we place a container at your door within about 30 kilometres of our branches in Katwijk, Rotterdam and Tilburg. For Alkmaar, storage is therefore usually part of your move or moving help: our movers load and the container goes to our warehouse in Katwijk, sealed. If you still want to load yourself, ask about it in your request.

Which container size suits an Alkmaar home?+

For a small upstairs flat in the city centre, 16 m³ is usually enough. The complete contents of a family home in De Mare or Daalmeer fit in 33 m³, our most popular size. If you have tall wardrobes or a piano, take 37 m³: the same floor area, but 30 centimetres taller.

Yes. Your container is kept in our warehouse on Taanderstraat in Katwijk. You book a moment in the app and the computer-operated crane puts it ready at the covered loading dock. That is possible until 19:00 on working days and until 17:00 at weekends. You park right next to it, so there are no corridors to walk through.

What is the minimum rental period?+

One month. After that you extend per month and can cancel monthly.

Are my belongings insured during storage?+

Not automatically. The cover of up to € 125,000 with no excess applies during transport by our movers, not during storage. For the storage period you can take out separate storage insurance with us if you wish, or insure the contents through your own home contents insurance.

How far in advance should I arrange this?+

Our planning runs about 8 weeks ahead. If your date is not fixed yet, request your price now anyway: that way we already reserve a period for you. If your date is closer, with a thousand of our own containers in Katwijk and Tilburg there is often still room at short notice.
