How we guard your belongings in our Katwijk warehouse

You get your own container, which is sealed in your presence and then sits in one of our own warehouses. The system knows exactly where each container is.

My house in Wassenaar is being renovated. Can my belongings stay with you in the meantime?+

Yes. We load your belongings at your home into your own container, which is sealed in your presence and stays in our warehouse in Katwijk. With you and the contractor we agree which rooms will be ready when; whatever cannot go back in yet stays sealed until it can.

How do you load in the centre of Wassenaar?+

In the Langstraat and parts of the Kerkstraat and Van Hogendorpstraat the retractable bollards lower from Monday to Saturday between 6.00 and 11.00. Our movers load within that window, and because lorries may not park in the built-up area, the truck only stays while we load. If the road has to be partly closed for that, a traffic exemption is needed. On request we can apply for it, preferably four weeks ahead, as an extra service.

Where can the container stand in Wassenaar?+

On your driveway or on your own property is usually no problem. For the use of public land in Wassenaar you always make a notification, at least two weeks in advance. If the container takes up more than 15 m² or is wider than 2.50 metres, you also need a permit, which has to be applied for at least eight weeks in advance. On request we arrange that for you, as an extra service. Tell us in your request where you want it and we will check whether it fits there. If your driveway is too narrow or too soft, our movers load and the container goes from the truck to the warehouse sealed.

Which container size suits a house in Wassenaar?+

For a small apartment in the village, 16 m³ is often enough, and the complete contents of a terraced house in Kerkehout fit in 33 m³. With tall wardrobes you choose 37 m³: the same floor area, but 30 centimetres taller. At a villa with a large household over several floors we check at the survey whether one container is enough.

Can I get to my belongings in between?+

Yes. Your container is kept in our warehouse on Taanderstraat in Katwijk. You book a moment in the app and the computer-operated crane puts it ready at the covered loading dock. That is possible until 19:00 on working days and until 17:00 at weekends. You park right next to it, so there are no corridors to walk through.

What is the minimum rental period?+

One month. After that you extend per month and can cancel monthly.

Are my belongings insured during storage?+

Not automatically. The cover of up to € 125,000 with no excess applies during transport by our movers, not during storage. For the storage period you can take out separate storage insurance with us if you wish, or insure the contents through your own home contents insurance.

How far in advance should I arrange this?+

Our planning runs about 8 weeks ahead. If your date is not fixed yet, request your price now anyway: that way we already reserve a period for you. If your date is closer, with a thousand of our own containers in Katwijk and Tilburg there is often still room at short notice.
