How we guard your belongings in our Katwijk warehouse

You get your own container, which is sealed in your presence and then sits in one of our own warehouses. The system knows exactly where each container is.

If you are having your 1930s house renovated, your belongings go into your own container in the meantime. Our movers load, and if the wardrobe will not fit past the stairs, it goes through the window with the moving lift. The container stays sealed in the warehouse until the renovation is finished or you have your new key.

My home is in the closed-off centre of Hilversum. When can you load?+

The core shopping area is closed off with bollards. Without an exemption, loading and unloading is allowed on Mondays from 6.00 to 13.00 and from Tuesday to Friday from 6.00 to 11.00. We fill your container within those hours. If that does not work, on request we apply to the municipality for an access exemption, as an extra service.

My house in Hilversum is sold, but the new home is not ready yet. How does that work?+

Before the transfer our movers load your belongings into your own container, which is sealed in your presence and goes to our warehouse in Katwijk. When your new home is ready, we deliver everything there. Your account manager keeps an eye on both dates, so the delivery lines up with the key.

Can the container stand at my door?+

As standard we place a container at your door within about 30 kilometres of our branches in Katwijk, Rotterdam and Tilburg. For Hilversum, storage is therefore usually part of your move or moving help: our movers load and the container goes to our warehouse in Katwijk, sealed. Which container size suits a Hilversum home?+

That is possible until 19:00 on working days and until 17:00 at weekends. You park right next to it, so there are no corridors to walk through.

What is the minimum rental period?+

One month. After that you extend per month and can cancel monthly.

Are my belongings insured during storage?+

Not automatically. The cover of up to € 125,000 with no excess applies during transport by our movers, not during storage. For the storage period you can take out separate storage insurance with us if you wish, or insure the contents through your own home contents insurance.

How far in advance should I arrange this?+

Our planning runs about 8 weeks ahead. If your date is not fixed yet, request your price now anyway: that way we already reserve a period for you. If your date is closer, with a thousand of our own containers in Katwijk and Tilburg there is often still room at short notice.
