Katwijk, June 2026 — With the delivery of our fourth and final DAF XD Electric truck, we have reached a significant milestone: the Oomen Group’s fleet now consists of 26 electric vehicles. That includes 12 electric trucks, along with electric vans and passenger cars. As a result, the majority of our fleet is now completely emission-free.
We reached the milestone of 25 vehicles without even noticing it. That perhaps says enough about how normal electric driving has become for us.
Four new DAF XD Electric trucks
We recently put four new DAF XD FA Electric trucks into service. The fleet consists of two DAF XD 270 kW EX-D2 trucks with 315 kWh LFP batteries for combined use, and two DAF XD 170 kW EX-D1 trucks with 210 kWh LFP batteries for solo use.
All trucks are equipped with 150 kW DC fast charging and 22 kW AC charging. Inside the cab, movers will find two air-suspension seats, four seats, a refrigerator, and all-around air suspension. Practical and comfortable—because the right tools make the job a lot more enjoyable.
Safe in the city center
The DAF XD cab is well-equipped for urban use. Standard features include the DAF Digital Vision Camera Monitor System, an additional side window in the passenger door, the Corner View Camera, Side & Turn Assist, and the Vision Dashboard. Together, these systems provide the driver with optimal all-around visibility, which enhances safety in busy city centers.
Charged with our own solar energy
The trucks are charged using electricity generated by our own solar panels. The roof in Katwijk is equipped with over 700 solar panels, connected to a battery storage system. The Tilburg facility has 440 solar panels on its roof. This means we have full control over the energy supply at multiple locations, and the trucks run on electricity we generate ourselves.
Acknowledgments
We would like to thank DAF Trucks and Truckland for their excellent cooperation on this project, and Lamboo Repair & Carrosserie in Zoetermeer for the high-quality BDF bodywork on all four trucks.
