Rent storage space in The Hague

Your own container, you choose who loads it

If you let our movers load, there is little to arrange in The Hague: movers may park free of charge while they work, although you cannot reserve a space. Where the truck will stand is something we agree at the survey. If you live in a pedestrian area with bollards, an exemption is needed for a time outside the delivery windows, to be applied for at least six working days ahead. On request we do that for you, as an extra service.

In the city centre and in streets of upstairs and downstairs flats, a container on the street is often not possible. On a driveway or your own property it is: we place it there. You load it at your own pace, we seal it in your presence and take it to our warehouse. Later we bring it back wherever you want it.

At an upstairs flat in the Regentessekwartier or the Bomen- en Bloemenbuurt, with the stairs straight behind the front door, our movers do the loading. Anything that will not fit there goes through the window with the moving lift. Everything goes from the truck into your own container, which enters the warehouse sealed. You decide how much help you buy: from one driver to a complete team that packs, dismantles and carries everything.

How we guard your belongings in our Katwijk warehouse

You get your own container, which is sealed in your presence and then sits in one of our own warehouses. The system knows exactly where each container is.

Every container gets a seal with a unique number. Broken seal = visible. No one gets in in the meantime, not even us.

Between two rental contracts in The Hague

If your rental contract ends before your next home is free, or you are moving abroad, your belongings go into the container at your home. At the survey we go through what comes with you and what stays in storage. We match the date to the end of your rental contract.

I am leaving The Hague to move abroad. Can part of my belongings stay here?+

Yes. During the survey we go through what goes abroad with you and what stays with us in storage. We load that part at your home into your own container, which is sealed in your presence and kept in our warehouse in Katwijk until you have a new address or come back. We match the date to the end of your rental contract.

I live in a pedestrian area with bollards in The Hague. How do you load there?+

Within the delivery windows we simply drive in. Outside them a removal truck may only enter with a one-off exemption, which the municipality wants at least six working days ahead. On request we apply once your date is fixed, as an extra service. A container on the street is usually not feasible there, so our movers fill your container from the truck and we seal it on the spot. The zero-emission zones are no problem for our electric vehicles.

Where can the container stand in The Hague?+

On your driveway or on your own property is usually no problem. If it has to stand on the street, the municipality often requires a permit or notification. On request we arrange that for you, as an extra service. Tell us in your request where you want it and we will check whether it fits there. In the city centre and in streets of upstairs and downstairs flats, a container on the street is often not feasible. Then our movers load and the container goes from the truck to the warehouse sealed.

Which container size suits a home in The Hague?+

For a small apartment, for example in a block of flats in Mariahoeve or a walk-up block in Bezuidenhout, 16 m³ is often enough. The complete contents of a family home in Wateringse Veld fit in 33 m³. If you have tall wardrobes or other tall items, choose 37 m³: the same floor area, but 30 centimetres taller. For a town house in the Statenkwartier we check at the survey how many containers you need.

Can I get to my belongings in between?+

Yes. Your container is kept in our warehouse on Taanderstraat in Katwijk. You book a moment in the app and the computer-operated crane puts it ready at the covered loading dock. That is possible until 19:00 on working days and until 17:00 at weekends. You park right next to it, so there are no corridors to walk through.

What is the minimum rental period?+

One month. After that you extend per month and can cancel monthly.

Are my belongings insured during storage?+

Not automatically. The cover of up to € 125,000 with no excess applies during transport by our movers, not during storage. For the storage period you can take out separate storage insurance with us if you wish, or insure the contents through your own home contents insurance.

How far in advance should I arrange this?+

Our planning runs about 8 weeks ahead. If your date is not fixed yet, request your price now anyway: that way we already reserve a period for you. If your date is closer, with a thousand of our own containers in Katwijk and Tilburg there is often still room at short notice.
