Last November, our queen paid a visit to Oomen Opslag and Oomen Verhuizers. Micky Adriaansens, Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, was also present. During the working visit, the Committee for Entrepreneurship presented the annual report “State of SMEs 2023” to the minister.

Oomen B.V. is a leader when it comes to sustainability. The first pile for our sustainable building was driven on March 16, 2020. Since then, we’ve been happy to do our part in the area of sustainability. In fact, we offer the most efficient, safe, and eco-friendly option for renting storage spaces.
In addition to designing our automated self-storage facility to be as sustainable as possible, we also use solar panels. More than 500 solar panels make the building energy-neutral. Both our roof and the awning are covered with solar panels. The crane, for example, can run directly on this generated energy. We actually generate more energy than we consume.
Oomen Opslag operates entirely without gas and is equipped with its own state-of-the-art energy storage system. This allows us to store solar power that isn’t used immediately in our battery packs.
That’s why Oomen Verhuizers, our moving company in Katwijk, is able to operate in a highly sustainable manner. We have several charging stations right outside our door and a fleet of electric vehicles. We have twelve fully electric vehicles, which we use to visit our customers powered by energy we generate ourselves. When the electric vehicles charge overnight, they do so using energy generated during the day. This allows us to handle your move entirely with electric power and without any emissions.
