Moving is also a challenging job for the homemaker. After all, you not only have to think about how to move and how to furnish your new home. You also want to stay operational for your boss or client in your current home for as long as possible and get back to work productively in your new place as quickly as possible. How do you do that and how do you furnish those new spaces?

Time is money

It is such a familiar saying: time is money. It means that time is valuable. Patience is a virtue, but sometimes acting fast really is best. A move should be well prepared, but ideally it should also be done as quickly as possible, especially if you regularly work from home. After all, not everyone can afford to take extra and long leave outside the vacations as well. And the self-employed among us also prefer not to make their clients wait too long. Note: This is not a call to be in a huge hurry. Stressing is not good for anyone. You can use your time wisely to think, weigh and decide well in advance of the move: What should my future living room look like? How do I furnish it, what colors do I use and what accents do I add? Of course, this applies equally to other rooms. Will you opt for unity or will each room be a space with its own atmosphere?

Staying accessible in your current home

So well before the move, you’ve been thinking about how you’re going to decorate that new living room. Maybe you’ve already ordered new stuff, too. And the bedroom is also an important room: after all, you want to sleep in your own (or a new) bed right from the start. Moving takes energy and so that’s exactly when you need your sleep. Of course, outsourcing your move to an experienced mover like Oomen will save you time and energy: you can be sure it will be done properly and professionally and you can focus on other things. Think about what you want to do with your office. In any case, don’t empty that room first, because then you will immediately be slightly out of pocket.

Getting started in your new home

Imagine us driving by soon, in the parking lot in front of your new house. How happy you will be when the couch is in its place in the living room and you can watch TV again. Your bed will quickly be brought upstairs by us and put together. Make it up and you can sleep soundly again. But please agree with us that you would like to use your study as soon as possible. Of course you can prepare this yourself. It’s not the highest priority, but painting or wallpapering a small study is easy. Put in a desk or work table, unpack your computer and you can go back to working from home as if nothing had happened.
