When you move, a lot goes through your hands, and there is always a little risk there. Sometimes an old box will tear and something is bound to fall on the floor. But of course you take extra care with precious items. True, you probably don’t have Ming porcelain in your home, but you might have fragile memorabilia from your childhood home. And you don’t want to see that beautiful painting dropped, either. But there are also larger objects in your home that need to be picked up and moved with care. You don’t want your bed to get damaged, and what about that antique cabinet you were still assigned from Grandma’s inheritance?

No velvet gloves
Our movers don’t wear velvet gloves, but you can rest assured that they will handle all your belongings very carefully. Some people worry, unjustifiably so. After all, how will that bed fit through that narrow stairwell? And how will you get the turn in the hallway by the front door? Not to mention that antique closet. You were so happy when Grandma said it was for you, and you were not only happy but also relieved that it was put in its place without a scratch afterwards. It is true: moving large objects is an art in itself, but at Ooms we have graduated in it, so to speak.
Inventory
As I’m sure you know, with every move, we come and take a look in advance. We want to have an idea of the number of cubic meters you want to move and adjust the choice of one of our moving vans accordingly. This, of course, is also the basis for our competitive quotation. We also discuss any extra work such as disassembling beds and cabinets and reassembling them in your new home. And of course, we also immediately see those items that need to be packed with extra care and also deserve more attention during the transfer. Be sure to point that out to us as well. For example, that large closet comes into extra focus, especially if it cannot be taken apart or it consists of two very large and very heavy pieces. But with all our experience, we definitely know how to wash this moving piggy too.
Beware!
We sometimes experience moving people being overprotective. Annoying and especially unfortunate. We do understand: after all, they are literally handing over their precious and precious belongings and seeing our movers for the first time. They are so afraid that glasses will break, a painting will be damaged or that beautiful antique cabinet will get a big hit. What they don’t know, of course, is that all of our movers are experienced. In fact, most of them have been doing this job for years. You move a few times in your life, but they move every day. And of course they encounter tricky situations. Sometimes they have to look at a situation from several sides to choose the best approach, but it always works out.
And lifelong learning
After all, movers also learn throughout their lives. Regularly our men encounter objects that require more attention than all those boxes combined. Many people already consider it quite an achievement to load that moving truck so meticulously and efficiently. Indeed, hardly a cubic inch remains unused. But that’s experience. Loading a moving truck is actually solving a puzzle. You have a lot of small and a few larger pieces that all have to go with it. At first glance that seems almost impossible, but with wit and insight they make the right choices. And your large cupboard is given a place in our moving van: so that it is well wedged in between other items, but not damaged on the way. A few moving blankets can help, but it starts with good handling by our movers. So grandma can rest assured: your antique cupboard will also be safely transported and arrive in your new home without a single scratch.
