We are the absolute frontrunner in the field of sustainable relocation and continuously take concrete measures to minimize our ecological footprint. No empty promises, but tangible results: from a largely electric vehicle fleet to gas-free business premises and our own energy generation. Below you can read how we put sustainability into practice.
Our sustainable measures
Gasless, energy-efficient buildings
- All of our properties are completely gasless and equipped with heat pumps.
- Our business locations have the highest attainable energy label:A+++++.
- At our headquarters in Katwijk, we have our own energy storage, which allows us to charge on solar power even at night.
Solar energy and energy storage
- With 1,000 solar panels of the latest generation, we generate enough power annually for our offices and electric vehicles.
- We use our own generated solar power to charge our electric trucks and commercial vehicles.
Electric fleet: industry leader
By 2025, we will have 27 electric vehicles, driving the vast majority of our total kilometers electrically. No other moving company in the Netherlands imitates us! Our electric fleet consists of:
- 12 electric passenger cars
- 3 electric vans
- 4 electric light trucks (4.25 tons)
- 8 heavy electric trucks (19 and 27 tons)
- The remaining diesel vehicles meet the highest emission standard EURO VI.
- Some of our heavy-duty moving elevators are hybrid, as fully electric models are not yet available.
CO₂ reduction and compensation.
- Our removals can be carried out completely carbon-neutral.
- The minimal emissions we have left are fully offset.
- We are ISO 14001-certified, which means that our sustainable practices are demonstrably and structurally secured.
- We support Trees for All by having trees planted on a regular basis.
Sustainable materials and waste disposal
- Our moving boxes are made of 100% recycled and recyclable FSC cardboard.
- The plastic film we use is made of bioplastic.
- We separate waste carefully with separate streams for residual waste, cardboard and plastic film.
- We work completely digitally, saving huge amounts of paper. No paper work orders, but real-time synchronized tablets.
Biodiversity and conservation
- At our main site in Katwijk, we have special hives to promote biodiversity.
- Every year our bees produce their own Oomen honey!
Community involvement
- We are an Approved Training Company and train several interns through STL.
- We offer suitable work to people distant from the labor market.
- We sponsor many local sports clubs and charities.
Sustainable employability of employees
- We reimburse gym memberships for all our employees.
- We provide regular training on physical strain and lifestyle.
- Our employees receive the best personal protective equipment (PPE) to perform their jobs safely and responsibly.
