Fortunately, with a few simple tricks you can make your home a lot more attractive. This way, you can make your home stand out among the many other homes on Funda.<\/p>\n

Light and space sell better<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Most people want to move because of lack of space. Family members may have joined or the need for extra space for work or hobbies has arisen. Therefore, a light house is more attractive than a dark house.<\/p>\n

Let light through<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A light house sells better because a light house looks more spacious than a dark house. So let lots of light in by pulling the curtains fully open and clear window sills. Beautiful green house plants are fine to stay. But do they block the daylight? Then it is wiser to temporarily move the plants elsewhere.<\/p>\n

As a potential buyer, you want to be able to lay out and furnish the space as you wish. To do this, you must be able to see the home first! Pay close attention to the flow of light and air. Is there furniture in the way that blocks these flows? Then remove it.<\/p>\n

Clean up<\/strong><\/h2>\n

No matter how cozy your clutter corner looks: empty this corner. This is because such a nook is very personal and usually looks messy to an outsider. In addition, a potential buyer may get the feeling of walking into someone else’s house instead of his or her own future home. Therefore, place as much clutter as possible in locked cabinets and storage boxes.<\/p>\n

Also remove all unnecessary accessories from view and make sure tables – except for a bunch of pretty flowers – are empty. This gives a nice clean look. Also remove very personal items, such as political or religious displays or family photos. These are things that not everyone can always identify with. And in order to sell your home as inexpensively as possible, your home should appeal to potential buyers.<\/p>\n

Why you should make repairs anyway<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The moment you want to sell your house, it may be tempting to stop putting too much money into it. Still, it can pay off tremendously to do a few small jobs. Think of loose door handles, peeling paint, leaking faucets or squeaky doors. Fixing these small defects may cost a few hundred euros, but can ultimately make a bigger difference to the selling price.<\/p>\n

It also prevents buyers from getting the idea that all sorts of things still need to be done to the house. At the end of the day, everyone prefers to move into a home they can move right in. So to increase your chances of selling and the final selling price, you would be wise to have these small jobs done.<\/p>\n

Create atmosphere<\/strong><\/h2>\n

By adding atmosphere to the home, you can make it more attractive. It is therefore important to create atmosphere without letting your personal taste dominate it. You do this by making small subtle adjustments.A few cozy pillows on the sofa or a beautiful floor lamp in a corner that is otherwise always empty.<\/p>\n

Besides, green always looks fresh and sells very well. So make sure there are plenty of plants in the home. If you do not have a green thumb, choose green plants without flowers that are easy to take care of. Preferably go for a few large plants rather than several small plants. Last but not least, make sure the plants are in nice – but neutral – plant pots.<\/p>\n

Leave it to professionals<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Is interior design really not your thing? Then you can always hire a sales stylist. They know exactly how to present your home as attractively as possible. Many of the tips mentioned above will also be applied by the sales stylist, but he or she has just a little more insight into how to do your home better justice.<\/p>\n

This also applies to hiring a photographer. In order to put the property up for sale, you will need to take some good photos of the rooms. You can of course do this yourself, but it is often advisable to hire a professional photographer to do this. Not only because they can take nicer pictures, but also because a professional photographer often knows just a little bit better how to get your kitchen or bathroom in a better picture.<\/p>\n

Are there any interested parties coming to view the property? Leave the property. Potential buyers cannot comfortably look around and make points of criticism when the occupant is still present. In addition, potential buyers need to get the idea that it could be their home, and that can be quite difficult if the owner is still around. Also, make sure your pets are accommodated and remove the litter box and food bowls.
