In addition to the official moving checklist, we\u2019ve created a separate checklist specifically for moving day. This way, you\u2019ll always know what to keep in mind on moving day.   <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><figure><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/oomen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/2148869412.jpg\"\/><\/figure><\/h4>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A few days before your move<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The days leading up to your move are crucial. This is the time to make your final preparations: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Check the moving boxes:<\/strong> Make sure all the boxes are labeled and placed in an easily accessible spot. This will help you avoid chaos during the move. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Disassembling Furniture:<\/strong> Does the furniture need to be disassembled? Do this in advance and store all parts and fasteners safely, for example, in a separate bag or box. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Final check of your old home:<\/strong> Walk through your old home one last time to make sure you haven&#8217;t forgotten anything. Plus, that way you can go over everything one more time without rushing. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Check windows, doors, and lights:<\/strong> Before you leave your old home, make sure all windows and doors are securely closed and that all lights are turned off. Don\u2019t forget to turn off any appliances that might still be running, such as washing machines and dishwashers. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Keep a clear record of your belongings:<\/strong> Make a list of all the boxes and pieces of furniture that need to be moved. This will help you check that everything has arrived safely at the new location. You may want to give this list to the movers so they can keep track of everything as well.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Keep handy items close at hand:<\/strong> Keep a separate bag or box with essential items, such as keys, important documents, chargers, snacks, and cleaning supplies. This prevents you from having to search for things you need right away. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Supervise the unloading:<\/strong> When your belongings are being unloaded at your new home, it\u2019s a good idea to have someone give directions. This ensures that boxes and furniture go straight to the right rooms, so you won\u2019t have to move everything around again later. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inspect Your New Home:<\/strong> Take a moment to inspect your new home. Check for any damage to the walls, floors, or other parts of the property. If you find anything, report it immediately to the landlord or real estate agent and take photos as evidence.
